Associate Professor Educational Qualification

For Agriculture, Community Science, Basic Sciences, Fisheries and specified Technology disciplines, candidates generally require a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and a Master's degree with at least 55% marks. The required experience is at least 8 years of teaching/research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor, along with prescribed research publications and a research score of 75.

For Veterinary and Animal Sciences posts, candidates require the prescribed recognised veterinary qualification, Veterinary Council registration, relevant Master's degree with 55%, Ph.D., prescribed teaching/research experience, publications and research score.

For specified College of Technology posts, candidates require a relevant Ph.D., First Class/equivalent at Bachelor's or Master's level, prescribed research publications and at least 8 years of teaching/research/industry experience, including 2 years after Ph.D.

Associate Professor Experience

  • At least 8 years of teaching or research experience in a position equivalent to Assistant Professor for the applicable disciplines.
  • Veterinary posts require the prescribed eligible teaching/research experience.
  • Technology posts require at least 8 years of teaching, research or industry experience, with at least 2 years after Ph.D.
  • Prescribed research publications and research score requirements also apply.

Assistant Professor Educational Qualification

For general teaching disciplines, candidates require a Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the concerned/relevant/allied subject and UGC/ICAR/CSIR NET or accredited SLET/SET. Eligible Ph.D. holders may receive NET/SLET/SET exemption under applicable regulations.

For Veterinary and Animal Sciences posts, candidates require B.V.Sc. & A.H., registration with the State/Central Veterinary Council, relevant Master's degree with at least 55%, and NET/SLET/SET or an applicable Ph.D. exemption.

For specified Technology posts, candidates require BE/BTech/BS and ME/MTech/MS or an Integrated MTech in the relevant branch, with First Class/equivalent in at least one degree.

Assistant Professor Experience

The supplied recruitment details do not prescribe a general mandatory experience requirement for Assistant Professor posts. Candidates must satisfy the specific qualification and eligibility conditions applicable to their discipline.

Qualification Relaxation

  • A 5% relaxation in Bachelor's and Master's qualifying marks is available to eligible SC, ST, OBC Non-Creamy Layer and differently-abled candidates, as prescribed.
